Description: MONTREAL — SNC-Lavalin has been awarded a contract for conceptual and basic engineering involving production facilities and the upgrading of heavy oil in Venezuela’s Orinoco oil belt.
The value of the deal announced Thursday was not disclosed, but SNC said it is “the first of several expected work authorizations” under the contract signed with Venezuelan Petroleum Corp., a subsidiary of Venezuela’s state-owned oil company, Petroleos de Venezuela S.A..
