New Projects in the Process and Power Generation Industries – As of 12/17/2009


Below are details of 3 recently awarded contracts to different engineering firms.  As new projects are given out to engineering, procurement and construction firms in the petrochemical industry, we will continue to aggregate the data and post the relevant information.  The 3 upcoming projects are:

  1. Asab 3

    • Estimated Cost: $409 million
    • Operating Company: Gasco
    • Engineering Firm: Technip
    • Construction Firm: Technip

    Description: Engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPC) work on Gasco’s “Asab 3″ project, which will be completed in the third quarter of 2012. The “Asab 3″ project is being developed to process an additional 150 million cubic feet per day of associated gas from the existing Asab, Shah and Sahil oil fields resources.

  2. Ammonia and Urea plants at FERTIL fertilizer complex

    • Estimated Cost: $1.2 billion
    • Operating Company: FERTIL
    • Engineering Firm: Samsung Engineering
    • Construction Firm: Samsung Engineering

    Description: Turnkey contract worth $1.2 Billion to construct Ammonia and Urea plants at its fertilizer complex in Ruwais.

  3. Refinery Receiving and Loading Facility

    • Estimated Cost: $multi-million
    • Operating Company: Laffan Refinery
    • Engineering Firm: Qatar Kentz
    • Construction Firm: Qatar Kentz

    Description: Turnkey engineering, procurement and construction with Laffan Refinery in Qatar. The contract is for a receiving and loading facility, which will be built at the Ras Laffan Industrial City. The project includes developing a new automated gantry facility to load diesel products into up to eight road tankers simultaneously, as well as transferring by pipeline to the Ras Laffan Port area. The commercial structure will be based on several shareholder companies owning a share of the asset, but maintenance and operation of the facility will be managed by Woqod.
